In an industry fraught with poor response to client needs, questionable practices and untrained personnel, Family Care rises to the top. Aides who are employed by the agency are top notch, some of whom have training above and beyond the adequate level for aides. In five years, we have consistently received superior and reliable personnel. Any change of aides was because they were “stolen” away as they were in demand! Perhaps the most unusual aspect was the sensitivity of the director Flo and his ability to work with you to satisfy your needs. First, he could always be reached, returning calls and texts quickly. Secondly, he always did his best, often informing you of schedule or other changes before you knew about them. Third, he was ALWAYS courteous and polite and sensitive to an elder’s needs. Really, I can’t say enough good things about Family Care. I would use them in a minute if the need arose again.

Compassionate Care

Allan De Guzman was hired to work for us for three months until the end of April. So far he has worked for us for seven weeks. He was hired to provide total care — 12 hours/day to my companion, Dr. Nicholas Zervas, who has limited mobility. Allan has exceeded all expectations in this area. Dr. Zervas has grown very fond of him and totally trusts himself to Allan's care. I think one could not have a better or more compassionate caregiver than Allan. He is also very helpful around the house and dresses Dr. Zervas, makes his bed and generally makes sure he is neat and clean everyday. If there is one area of improvement, it is Allan's judgment. He is somewhat immature but if given clear instructions, he tends to follow them. Allan would be a great asset to any household that would employ him. He has both mine and Dr. Zervas' strongest recommendation.
